Thermo-oxidative Aging Simulation for Polymers & Elastomers

The Arrhenius equation was derived in 1889. It assumes one temperature, one mechanism, no oxygen kinetics. K-Load models the real physics.

Two one-component polyurethane waterproofing formulations were oven-aged at 80°C in an independent accelerated-aging study, one for up to 84 days, the other for up to 156 days. ElastoSure, Karax LLC's coupled life-prediction engine, was fit using only the first half of each formulation's own tested duration, then checked against the second half it never saw.

The result: a predicted natural service life of 16.3–22.7 years across the two formulations tested, landing inside the 15–25 year range PU waterproofing membranes, including commercial one-component products such as Sika's Sikalastic and Alchimica's HYPERDESMO, are conventionally specified against.
