ElastoSure Validated Against Acid / Chemical Aging on PU Waterproofing Membranes

We hid half of a 290-day acid test from ElastoSure. It still predicted the ending, the membrane barely noticed.

Secondary containment and chemical-exposure environments push PU waterproofing membranes through a different failure path than heat or moisture alone. An independent study immersed two PU formulations in 35°C, 5% H₂SO₄ solution for up to 290 days, the longest single-stressor test in the dataset. ElastoSure was fit on the first half of that duration and validated against the remaining held-out half.

Acid exposure proved the mildest of the three stressors tested: both formulations retained 88–92% of baseline tensile strength through 290 days. ElastoSure's fit, built without ever seeing the longer-duration points, still supported a predicted natural service life of 16.3–22.7 years, consistent with the 15–25 year range one-component PU membranes (including products such as Sika's Sikalastic and Alchimica's HYPERDESMO) are specified against.
